A very stormy evening out in the middle of nowhere. Some where between Idaho border and Burns Oregon. It was getting late and the roads were snow packed. So very peaceful and beautiful, but so lonely and cold. Didn't see another car for hours.

I love scenes just like this. I love how you included the fence in this one, too. The landscape exudes so much mood! My favorite so far!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. Love the colours and the fence and it makes me think of the many faces of the majesty of nature - in this case peaceful and yet potentially harmful.
ReplyDeleteJanice.
It sure does look lonely. Not a place to run out of gas thats for sure.
ReplyDeleteThe fence does add perspective.I love the way the shot is almost entirely blue, in so many shades! There is a sense of peace, but I would have been seriously scared at the lack of traffic.
ReplyDeleteI love eastern Oregon the lack of traffic gives me peace. Breath in the crisp air and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteNice shot! You've definitely captured the peacefulness and the loneliness.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing photo and a good choice for the title. Beautiful!

ReplyDeletesuper photo.
ReplyDeleteSo lonely and desolate. Very nice photo! Speaks thousands of words even though it seems no one is around.
ReplyDeletelove this shot. The dark fence against the white background is a nice contrast and makes the endless fence really stand out as well. I can feel the cold solitude from here. Very nice
ReplyDeletesuch vast sky! that's the nice thing about rural areas.
ReplyDeleteStrong mood captured in the very nice photo.
ReplyDeleteMakes one feel totally alone with nature!
ReplyDeleteThe snow reflects the blue/grey of the sky too. Such a lovely vista. I could look at this all day.

ReplyDeleteI can almost feel the stillness and quiet. There are picture shots that capture exactly how we feel at a particulat moment. When you HAVE to stop the car and take the picture. I scrolled down through some of your precvious posts, too. I really enjoyed stopping by. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteToo beautiful a scene to even feel scared of the desolation.
ReplyDeleteIt does look lonely and cold. Neat perspective with just a hint of fence breaking up the composition:)
