The Coquille River Lighthouse proudly overlooking the Coquille River and Pacific Ocean in Bandon, Oregon. Its new coat of paint gleaming in the sun but its light no longer quiding the ships to port as it is only a tourist attraction now.
Waves crashing on the shore of the Coquille River.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful watery Wednesday!!!!

  1. Wow, that's a big splash of waves! And Dawn thanks for cheering me up for the hiking. Actually, I quit after the first cove, because it was too hot last Sunday.

If the light house is for tourism only, can we go up to the top? I have been to one, just a few miles from the hike, and it was steep.

  3. Lighthouses are always a great subject for photographers. This one is especially interesting sitting out there on that spit.

  7. What a beautiful and historic lighthouse. It's a shame the light is no longer in use as a guiding light by the sea.

  11. You live in a beautiful place. This is just how I always pictured the Oregon Coast with a few more rocks and trees perhaps. I too would be drawn there with my camera every day. Have you thought about joining the 365 group and posting a picture from that spot every day/night?
