I love that cheerful burst of yellow, such a lovely sign of spring!
I didn't realize that gorse grows in Oregon! Our first (and so far only) experience with gorse was on a trip my husband and I made to Scotland years ago, where its fragrance filled the air on so many of our hikes around the countryside. Only we didn't know the blooming gorse was the source of the aroma, and kept accusing each other of wearing tropical-scented suntan lotion!! (Which made no sense, since we didn't own any and Scotland in May isn't really the time and place for suntan lotion!) :-) But that's exactly what the gorse smelled like to us.

Nice picture - my mum used to say that when gorse was out of flower, kissing was out of fashion! (In the UK, if flowers all year!)
